On the morning of 12 September, 12 members of the PEM team volunteered as team leaders for Power2Inspire‘s PowerHouseGames, a local Cambridge-based charity who work towards making sport more inclusive.
Those who joined the games took part in new-age curling, sitting netball, boccia, tag rugby, sitting volleyball and blindfolded goalball. The aim of the games is to ensure that ‘no one is left on the bench’, with the sports being adapted so that everyone can join in.
Amy Hayden, PEM’s ESG and community lead commented “As always, it was a heartwarming event watching students from state, private and special needs schools come together to work as a team, along with Cambridge University rugby players and a PEM team leader.”
PEM are proud to have been the first ever sponsors and volunteers for the PowerHouseGames back in 2018, with this being their 6th games. Founder John Willis continues to achieve fantastic things, with PowerHouseGames now being held all over the country.
