PEM is delighted to announce the successful celebration of Pride Month this June.
As part of the Pride Month celebrations, PEM were joined by a speaker from The Kite Trust, a Cambridge-based charity that promotes the health, wellbeing and inclusion of LGBTQ+ young people. The talk covered the history of Pride, language and terminology, and issues LGBTQ+ people are facing in today’s society.
As well as being a “Friend of Pride,” PEM also proudly encouraged its employees to attend Cambridge Pride, a vibrant celebration of love, acceptance, and diversity in the city. The event featured a city centre parade, live performances, and community stalls, providing a platform for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to come together and celebrate.
The PEM Charitable Trust also donated a grant of £1,000 to support Cambridge Pride on their accessibility i.e. BSL interpreters and ramps in line with their EDI network’s focus areas.
Throughout the month PEM’s EDI network also shared resources, suggested books/tv/film/podcasts, Cambridgeshire’s notable residents, understanding the Pride flag, as well as how to be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
PEM remains dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, and their Pride Month celebrations are a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion, in line with South Cambridgeshire’s Equality Pledge.
